Alina stood silently in the middle of a supermarket, gripping the shopping cart while overhearing her husband, Igor, speaking on the phone with his mother.
Without knowing she was nearby, Igor promised to buy his mother an expensive mink coat before winter. He casually reassured her that Alina would manage with only 3,000 rubles for the month because she was «good at saving.»
The words hurt Alina far more than the promise itself. It was not simply about money—it was the realization that her husband made important financial decisions without her,

Instead of confronting him immediately, Alina calmly finished shopping, paid for groceries, and waited for him outside. When Igor came out, she revealed that she had heard everything.
