A serious accident paralyzes the M5 motorway, a long line of trucks is jammed at Rajka, and the Pentele Bridge has reopened – here are the most important traffic news!

Several extraordinary traffic events are making things difficult for motorists across the country today. According to the latest report from the Hungarian Public Roads, we can expect congestion, traffic restrictions and disruptions at the borders on the following road sections:

🚨 Several trucks collided on the M5 – complete road closure towards Budapest!
A serious accident occurred in the Inárcs area, on the side of the M5 motorway heading towards Budapest, at kilometer 31. Several trucks collided, and traffic was completely stopped.

The police are diverting motorists from the motorway at kilometer 44, at the Újhartyán junction. You can return at kilometer 30, at Ócsa. Ambulances, firefighters and police are also working at the scene of the accident, and the traffic jam is several kilometers long.

🛑 A vehicle with a technical defect is obstructing traffic on Highway 7
On Highway 7, on the Székesfehérvár bypass, a vehicle with a technical defect is obstructing traffic heading towards Letenye. The outer lane has been closed at kilometer 74, so slower traffic should be expected. Please drive with extra caution in the area!

🚛 A long line of trucks is congested at Rajka – border wait exceeds 5 km!
A significant traffic jam has developed on the Hungarian-Slovak border section, on the M15 motorway, in the Rajka area. The line of trucks waiting to exit is already more than 5 km long.

Drivers should expect longer waiting times. It is worth checking the police website for current border information in advance.

🛠️ The Pentele Bridge in Dunaújváros is open again – but lane restrictions are in place!
The M8 motorway, during the renovation works of the Pentele Bridge in Dunaújváros, was previously completely closed. The restriction has now been lifted, but between km 79 and 81, only one lane can be used in both directions. Pedestrian and bicycle crossings are still allowed.

🐖 Animal health closure at minor borders – special procedure due to cloven-hoofed animals

The Slovak-Hungarian minor borders remain closed to vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tons in the Bratislava, Nagyszombat and Nitra regions. Crossing with cloven-hoofed animals is only allowed at the Parassapuszta border crossing.
