New Parents Shocked to See Their Dog Sitting Motionless by Baby’s Crib Every Night – They Decided to Install a Camera!

New parents noticed their dog sitting motionless by the baby’s crib every night — so they decided to install a camera 😱😱

When a baby girl was born into the young family, their golden retriever, Laura, immediately took on the role of a devoted guardian.

Dogs often become loyal companions to children, but Laura’s behavior quickly grew unusual.

Then something truly strange began to happen. For an entire week, every single night, Laura would quietly approach the baby’s crib and sit down beside it without moving.

She wouldn’t lie down or fall asleep, nor would she leave even to drink water. She just sat there, eyes fixed on the baby, occasionally letting out soft whimpers.

The new parents noticed this strange ritual — their dog sitting still by the crib all night long — and decided to set up a night-vision camera.

“At first, I thought she was just guarding her,” the mother said with a nervous smile.

But as the nights passed, Laura’s behavior became more and more unsettling.

She stayed by the crib until morning while the parents slept in their own room. Yet during the day, she acted normally — eating, playing, and sleeping like any other dog.

The young mother started feeling uneasy. “Why is she doing this? I’m really scared for our daughter. Should we take her to the vet?”

To ease their fears, the couple set up a night-vision camera pointed directly at the crib.

The next morning, when they reviewed the footage, they were stunned by what they saw… Their baby had been in danger.

Around 3:12 a.m., Laura suddenly stood up, growled fiercely, and began barking loudly toward the window.

On the footage, the window sash could be seen slowly and barely opening. Then, a hand — a stranger’s hand — tried to push through the screen.

Laura sprang into action, lunging toward the window. She bit through the curtain and jumped onto the windowsill, barking wildly. The hand vanished. A tense moment passed, then silence.

The mother grabbed her phone and called the police immediately.

Later, it was revealed that a criminal had been breaking into homes through first-floor windows in the neighborhood for weeks.

He targeted families with infants, hoping to catch parents off guard and vulnerable.

He was caught two days later, tracked down by traces left at the window — pieces of fabric from a glove and drops of blood where Laura had bitten him.

Since that night, the young couple never locked Laura away in the kitchen overnight. She now sleeps peacefully in the nursery, curled up by the crib, no longer whimpering.

She did what she was meant to do. She protected her family.
