From June 16 through June 22, across every highway, backroad, and city street, officers will conduct intense, widespread inspections as part of the European Roadpol initiative.

The crescendo of this campaign will come on the night of June 20, starting at 8 PM, when the police launch the “Alcohol and Drug Marathon”—a relentless 24-hour crackdown where no driver escapes scrutiny.

Just days earlier, on June 10, Budapest felt the firm hand of law enforcement when police set up rigorous spot checks across seven districts—X, XVII, XVIII, XIX, XX, XXI, and XXIII.
Over 2,200 drivers were stopped and tested in that sweep alone. Though only 15 drivers tested positive for intoxication—just 0.67%—each case tells a story of danger narrowly averted.
