Tobias Moretti Villben, born in a charming alpine village nestled in Tyrol, developed a profound connection with nature and agriculture from a very young age.
Growing up in the shadow of towering mountains, he learned to cherish and respect the land, living in harmony with the environment surrounding him.

However, fate steered him in a different direction: in 1984, he enrolled at the Falkenbergschule acting school in Munich, marking the beginning of his artistic journey and introducing him to the enchanting world of theater.
His initial steps on stage were met with success: he took part in significant theatrical productions, garnering attention with his compelling performances.
Nonetheless, the wider audience came to know him through film, with roles in movies such as “Workaholic (Who’s Coming to My Bed?)” and “Krambambuli.”
In these films, he showcased his versatile acting abilities and took a crucial step forward in his career.
Yet, his greatest acclaim arrived with the television series “Inspector Rex,” where he portrayed Detective Richard Moser.
This role earned him not only fame but also prestigious accolades: in 1995, he received the Bavarian Film Award, followed by the Italian Telegatto Award in 1998.
The immense popularity of the show is evident in how his character became well-known and beloved throughout the German-speaking world.
Still, after four seasons, Tobias made the decision to leave this iconic role, leading the writers to take the dramatic step of killing off his character in the series.

The actor later explained, “I played Richard Moser with great pleasure for a long time, but being a series star isn’t a real profession. I didn’t like that my face became a commodity.
I felt I wasn’t growing in that role and needed to seek something that truly mattered to me.”
